The Office of Civil Rights Compliance and Accessibility (CRCA) is the University entity tasked with preventing and addressing all forms of harassment and discrimination, including sexual harassment and sexual misconduct, across the FIU community. This is accomplished through the enforcement of FIU-105: Sexual Harassment (Title IX) and Sexual Misconduct and FIU-106: Nondiscrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (Title VII) regulations. CRCA houses the University’s American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, Title VI, and Title IX functions.
FIU affirms its commitment to ensuring that each member of the University community shall be permitted to work or study in an environment free from any form of illegal discrimination, including race, color, sex (including gender, gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation), pregnancy, religion, age, disability, national origin, marital status, and veteran status. Discrimination based on sex encompasses Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Harassment, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and/or Stalking. The University recognizes its obligation to work towards a community in which diversity is valued and opportunity is equalized.
